We are going to write a letter to Mr Armistead asking him if we can have new desks and chairs for our classroom.
Before we write this letter we have practised writing another letter about…
Whether or not we should have mobile phones at school or Whether or not we should have homework
These practice letters will become another model we can work from when we write our letter to Mr Armistead.

Mobile Phones In School
Introduction
Hi, I am Miya. I am writing this to you to try to get you to see my point about allowing mobile phones in schools.
Reason One:
Do you like forgetting important dates like birthdays and meetings? So many people are getting disappointed because more and more people are forgetting and are late for their important things like birthdays. I believe that to solve this problem, we need to allow mobile phones in school. Although that the alerts are loud, we can put them onto level one or vibrate, that way, you won’t forget anything important.
Reason Two :
Now, a question. Would you like to learn from advanced technology, e.g., cell phones, or boring old black and white paper? Well, it is kind of obvious, that more, or almost everyone, would like to learn from advanced technology, rather than old black and white paper. Even better, if someone knows something that you don’t know, you can become more knowledgeable about things.
Reason Three:
Even though, on average, a tree makes three thousand, three hundred and thirty six pieces of paper, Room Two would probably go through that in just one week! If we had cell phones, we could save heaps of trees, and learn. If we were all on the $10 plan from telecom, we could text instructions to people if they had forgotten them. Less people wouldn’t forget as much because they would have them in their inbox.
Counter Argument:
But even though there are a few downsides, I still strongly believe that we should have cell phones in school. One downside though, is that people could text bully, but that can be fixed easily by ignoring it because, eventually, they will use up all their money and will get sick of it if you don’t reply.
Restatement:
We do need cell phones in our school because with them people are less likley to forget anything important because they will always have it in their inbox or if they delete it, in the deleted folder.
